Until now, Ben Sulayem had been reluctant to expand beyond six sprints per season, citing the impact on FIA personnel workload and finances. But as previously reported, FOM is understood to be keen to hit double digits as soon as the 2027 season, as sprint weekends have had a net positive impact on race promoters and the commercial side of the business.
I definitely was getting fatigue this season. 18-20 max would be my sweet spot tbqh. The capitalist approach I would say will lead to people not following so closely over time since it’s too time consuming but it may just be me
10 sprints per season? No thanks.

Same, even with ignoring sprints. Races don’t feel special any more. But yeah, they only care about viewing figures.
If you just make the whole weekend FP1/SQ/Sprint, that would work for at least 10 of the rounds.
So no Grand Prix? I doubt FOM would be willing to not do GPs on Sprint Weekends.
