Last month was not for me. This looks a lot better. Since i already own Total Warhammer 3 maybe I can finally get a friend to play it. Gifting = no choice. He he.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Finally switched my fiancee to bazzite, fuck me was it a trial
21·6 days agoI don’t have any real issue either. Have a rtx 4070 card. Or… Well… There was some issues playing darktide on anything but the lowest settings for some reason but other than that its been good.
Note that i mostly play smaller/indie games with very few exceptions.

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Co-op adventure, town-building and survival game Necesse hits the big 1.0English
1·24 days agoYeah! Played this like a year ago with friends and completed just about everything. Going back soon to do a new run since it is 1.0.
Was not a big fan over the item sets in early access as it felt like you had to wear one of three sets depending on play style and less freedom about it than terraria for example. Hope that is better this time. But this is something I dislike with many games so maybe just me…
After using win 11 for about a year I got tired of that shit. Every version since 98made the settings menu harder and harder to find whatever I was looking for and this is true for everything in that OS. Save a file? 5 clicks at least just to be able to pick WHERE I want it. Wtf.
It was driving me insane. Bazzite, easiest OS for what I use my computer for and not looking back.

3·1 month agoIndeed. Took me 20min from starting install to having my first game on Steam. Best experience ever. Never looked back.

Gaming@lemmy.ml•Honestly a game set in the japanese ministry of finance during the late 80s and 90s sounds interesting to me
1·2 months agoOnly game I know about is victoria (only played the latest) but is not in the time area you are looking for. Economic games are pretty few and I found nothing back when I were looking.

1·2 months agoYeah. Too bad that you can’t pause and keep the 20% off the store any more. Oh well I don’t buy much over there anyway.

Linux@lemmy.ml•Everytime I try to start something with Linux I fail.
1·2 months agoI also tried to get diriger games to install with heroic, lutfisk or whatever but never got it to work. Threw the installer to steam and it just works. Weird… So I just do everything through steam now instead of messing around.

Steam Deck@sopuli.xyz•New rumor suggests Valve's Steam Deck 2 is much further away than we thought
5·2 months agoWhy would you need 1440p on a small screen like that? I think 720p on the original switch was fine and see no need for anything with a small screen to have so hig resolution. Especially since that means less battery time, just waste of power.

2·2 months agoThere is a zoom function. Haven’t tried it myself yet as I haven’t had the need yet. But there is on the deck.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which games made you go into an "addiction phase"?
7·3 months agoAbout 20 years ago I played world of warcraft every day and every awaken hour of the day or just about. School was over and I lived with my parents and was “looking for work”. Let’s just say that I played vanilla so much that I had guild members calling in the middle of the night to get together for world boss killing.
Since then I have realized that is not how to go about in life and last time i really got stuck was with Factorio.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which games made you go into an "addiction phase"?
3·3 months agoProbably game of the year for me. Such a rollercoaster of emotions every time I sat down and played. Still have to play the bits after the story is over.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which games made you go into an "addiction phase"?
2·3 months agoYou can play without biters. Just pick the option before you start the map. Or pick friendly mode to have them there but they never bother you until you attack them is also an option. A lot of settings before you start a new game, check them out :)

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Which games made you go into an "addiction phase"?
2·3 months agoI played Factorio first and since my friends are “done with Factorio” (not sure what’s wrong with them but I think I need new friends) I agreed to play satisfactory with them. It was fun for a couple of hours then it just started tobuild up rage inside of me because of so many strange or stupid design decisions the devs made. When we got to trains and I started building that was when I hit my rage limit and boiled over. My god those stations are huge and the unloading was the most stupid shit ever. Then all the small finicky tricks you can do to slim your builds… And this you want to learn/do since blueprints are small. Don’t get me started… Never started the game again after we were done but have a couple of hundred more hours in Factorio since then :)

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Thinking of switching my gaming desktop to linux. Should I?English

Linux Gaming@lemmy.world•Thinking of switching my gaming desktop to linux. Should I?English
1·4 months agoI switched to bazzite a couple of months ago and read so much about catchyOS so I tried that too about 2 weeks ago. I couldn’t install shit. Never had any problem installing anything I needed except one thing on bazzite but catchyOS just had me give up. I am not sure what I did wrong but after 2 hours of reading and trying to figure out AUR or whatever I just gave up and booted bazzite again. I just want to play my games with the little time I have but maybe I boot it up again sometime in the future.

Games@sh.itjust.works•Ori studio's focus on PS5 over Xbox for next game isn't a "shakedown" but "common f*cking sense", says CEOEnglish
2·4 months agoI see you had more arguments. I was just baffled over what I read. I own neither and don’t really follow what games are exclusives or not.
Happy it worked out for you :)
Also running bazzite. Out of the 3 evenings i have played I had maybe 3 crashes/freezes. I think one was unrelated (I have a standing problem that happens with all “larger games”) but maybe this will solve the other one.
