I’ve definitely turned into the paranoid nutcase within my friend group in recent years, I hate that everything is “smart” nowadays requiring an app/internet connection & account, just to do basic things that didn’t require any of that before.

I guess it is a very clear red flag when a philosophy reduces individuals to either black or white. Only a Sith deals in absolutes.
Everybody bandies around the word “fascism”, but un-personing people is fascism.
Since you brought up the Star Wars comparison…ironic, that they were so quick to see fascism in others but were so blind to it in themselves.
