Okay so… what about using tailscale? You set as exit node your server, which is configured with gluetun to connect to a VPN (or ideally, it’s online through a router that has itself a VPN for all the connections). Then you connect through tailscale to your homeserver and exit the internet through it (which is already under a VPN).

Why don’t you just use Shelter to create a work profile on your phone? The work profile can have a second vpn connection. I do this with my homeserver. The apps that connect to the home server are installed in the work profile so they have permanent access to the homeseraer while the normal profile is on my external vpn.

It’s so damn stupid. Every time i hear of a new show, I must look for which platform will have it in my country. And also which seasons, because it happens (with old shows specially) that they are fragmented, having some seasons here, some there, and some unavailable.

Then, I open stremio and the whole show is there, a single app with all the content.

Now tell me, if I want to watch that show, what should I do?

Fact is, in my company, higher ups have more screens than me. Like phone, desktop, couple monitors and huge wall monitor.

Not that I know of, sorry. However, the setup is so easy that I think you’d lose more time looking for a test server than actually setting up yours with a few songs to test.

The jellyfin clients allow to download media from your server (if your user has permission to do so, but if you are your own admin, you decide your own permissions, so…).

To download music for the server I use soulseek. It’s pretty much like the old napster and has also an android client.

I have a zimablade home server.

To access my server from outside my wifi I use Tailscale on my phone and other devices. I have created a rule for certain tags so I can create keys that when assigned to those tags, have access only to the port of my jellyfin server and not the rest of the services running on it. That way I can share it with friends.

Since android only allows a single vpn at a time and I browse internet with a vpn, I installed shelter on my phone to create a “work” profile where I installed the tailscale vpn and jellyfin so through the work profile I am connected to the vpn of my home server while I retain my normal vpn for the rest.
