It’s not that much work. I created a VM which is running the same distro as the host. I removed all of the apps except for the terminal. Then I cloned it for each VM I need.

The Whatsapp/ email client VM and the Librewolf VM start with my OS so it’s like having them in separate windows. The others I only start if needs be.

I’m also based in the UK. I don’t run a business but have occasionally encountered problems trying to use Librewolf on the web, especially with Noscript on.

I tried to use Qubes to separate my activities into VMs but I found it difficult. So I did my own, less extreme, approach using KVM.

I created a virtual machine which only has Chrome on it. This is what I use for accessing my bank, Paypal and doing online shopping.

I have a second machine I use for Whatsapp and email and finally a third with Librewolf for general web browsing.

Each uses the same VPN service but different servers.

I only use Freetube and Retroarch on my main machine.

This is on a very beefy Thinkpad I essentially use as a desktop in my office. I use a smaller machine downstairs with VNC on it as a remote when I’m sat on my sofa.

Will that achieve anything?

Maybe. Maybe not.

But if we’re putting warnings on things and trying to influence behaviour around tobacco and alcohol consumption (don’t get me started on drugs) then we might as well do it with foods that can cause serious health problems and are arguably addictive.

I don’t think they could check Lemmy or Reddit, unless maybe you used your full name as your username or in a comment and they Google it.

They don’t get to hide from the endless stream of copycat “adult” cartoons that all try to out-offend each other. They’re all trash and none of them have ever equaled what South Park originally brought to the table.

Yea, a lot of newer adult animations like say Brickleberry and Crash Canyon really suck. But South Park is just a part of that story. The Filntstones, Jetsons, Simpsons, Beavis and Butthead and King of the Hill all predated it and Family Guy, American Dad came out not long after.

My cat has worked out how to deal with people who don’t like cats. He can jump on your lap just before you’re fully sat down and get in your face as with OP’s cat. Also if you ignore him he’ll put his head in your hand and move it back and forth to show you how the whole thing is supposed to work.

I don’t truly know what happens to us after death but I believe it’s likely nothing so I want to have as much of something as possible. As I heard once, suicide is a permanent solution to what can only be a temporary problem. We all die in the end anyway.

Also, as far as lives go mine is pretty good. At least I think so. I don’t have any health problems, I have a job that pays more than enough for me to live comfortably, a house with a lot of possessions I like in it, and a cat.

It could be better. There’s a few things I can think of that would improve it. Some are pretty much impossible and some would be very difficult but there’s some that are probably within my reach, I’m just not putting in the effort to try to attain them.

Suicide is easy. And painless.
