Sadly, the capital has stronger weapons and professional fighters on its side to fight for their interests: soldiers. I don’t see how civilians owning guns would help, especially if some of them support a fascist regime and would fight for them.

I’m afraid your logic doesn’t hold up.
We can agree that humans have violent tendencies and that some will inevitably act on them. But let’s flip your argument: if people are violent and will always find a way to harm others, should we then legalize automatic weapons? But why stop there? Explosives? Heavy artillery? Personal nukes?
Maybe we can agree that limiting an individual’s capacity for violence is a sensible goal. Most countries restrict access to guns which seems like a reasonable place to draw the line.

Regulation (EU) 2017/1128 of the European Parliament
This Regulation introduces a common approach in the Union to the cross-border portability of online content services, by ensuring that subscribers to portable online content services which are lawfully provided in their Member State of residence can access and use those services when temporarily present in a Member State other than their Member State of residence.
I assume they are either not allowed or willing to track how temporary my stay in my home country is which means I can watch without VPN.
Bademantel@lemmy.worldto Formula 1@lemmy.world•Carlos Sainz says F1 broadcast going 'overboard a little' by showing girlfriends instead of overtakes1·13 days agoAh, it might be an EU thing. If I remember correctly, it’s against EU law to restrict online content by region. You should come back. It’s fun here, I swear!
Bademantel@lemmy.worldto Formula 1@lemmy.world•Carlos Sainz says F1 broadcast going 'overboard a little' by showing girlfriends instead of overtakes2·13 days agoYep, also doing it via Google Pay from Germany. Sky has exclusive rights here which means a stupid price tag, a horrible app and I can’t stand the German commentators. I don’t need to use a VPN, however. I opened my account with one through the Netherlands but since then I can stream without one.
Worked flawless but in recent weeks the f1tv app has been kind of shit. Not opening for a couple of minutes, not buffering right. Kind of frustrating.

I don’t care about them at all. The same goes for most viewer shots. I’m a simple man; I just want to see cars go wrooom!
I’m glad someone from the grid picked it up and commented on it. There’s a tiny possibility that something will change.

I guess I’m a simple man. OP made me laugh. I expect because of sarcasm. If he actually thinks the guy is a mastermind I’d have to laugh even harder. In any case, I enjoyed his contribution to this community. Nevertheless, you point is valid, especially with topics that are more complex.

I observed more sarcasm without the need to flag it (/s) compared to reddit and I like it. My post are often sarcastic (probably a coping mechanism, the world has gone crazy) and I wouldn’t be a big fan of flagging them as such: “Hey look, I made a joke. Now laugh and press the upvote!”

I’m living here and you are absolutely correct. Public transit is good. Most streets are 50 km/h. Some are 30 but that is oftentimes not enforced.
Several studies have shown that a speed limit of 30 km/h can massively reduce the number and severity of accidents. But as Germans we hate the idea of slowing down for other road users. We bought those shiny non electric cars and we want to blast through the city, god damnit!

Forgot to mention one of my favorite gaming moments from over 10 years ago: Organizing a LAN party with friends, some of them not gamers. They had a great time as well. One came with a Mac and didn’t. We shared and made it work.
