It’s Biden’s fault.

It’s Biden’s fault.

Exactly. My wife hasn’t used an actual computer more than a handful of times in the last several years. She does EVERYTHING on her smartphone.
I have never owned a laptop, because my desktop unit is where I do most of my business stuff, and when I’m away from that, my smartphone is good enough.
Of course, the most important thing isn’t that we account for two less computers than a few years ago, but the smartphones that we have replaced laptops with, run Android. So that’s actually a net loss of 4 MS products.
And after all these years, Windows products still make me frustrated and infuriated. You’d think they would have honed it to a perfect product by now, but every few years they completely reconfigure the UI, and make us have to navigate a whole new, buggy system.

Imagine if you took $100 billion from any of these Goblins, they wouldn’t even notice it, but that money could fund homeless solutions (or any other problem) forever.

This is where God gets to prove he’s real, and he’s on the side of the people. If it’s true, Venice will finally sink into the sea and become a legend, like Atlantis.
If that happens, I’ll finally go to church every Sunday. Hear me God? That’s what it will take.

Me, too. It wasn’t my decision.

Me, but that’s because Reddit permabanned me on the post- inauguration bloodbath.
In some ways I like Lemmy a lot better for things like politics. It doesn’t have all the puns, trolls, Russian Propaganda Farmers, bots, novelty accounts, etc., so while they are fewer comments, they tend to be more substantial. I can also mostly say what I think without getting suspended.
On the other hand, I miss some of the personal forums, which are far more active on Reddit. I’d like the guitar forums to be more active, but they barely have any posts. Most have weeks or even months between posts, while Reddits have a constant flow, every minute. I keep saying that I’m going to start posting content as often as possible, but I haven’t yet. Maybe I’ll start this week.

They aren’t innocent, they are knowingly creating a devastating weapon of mass destruction for a regime who has declared that they intend to use it. While I don’t support this sort of unprovoked attack, I can’t get too worked up over the demise of literally mad scientists.

I have a similar story with ex-partners, but not as long and convoluted, and also without such a successful outcome, but I definitely understand how dastardly ex-partners can motivate you to want to succeed without them.

The chance of a payphone being handy in the middle of a demonstration is pretty small. If you have to run a half mile to find a pay phone, then the strategy starts to break down.
However, if you want to try this, maybe The Payphone Project can help you locate the nearest phone. According to the listing for my hometown, it’s likely a campground or cheap hotel.

Yeah, the interest idea doesn’t make sense, especially since for most of the 21st century the interest on savings accounts has been negligible.
If it cost $6 on the $1500 loan, that’s most (of not all) of the interest right there, and it takes time for that interest to accrue significantly. It’s not going to happen in a couple of days.
If this was the scheme, then your ex-boss was no criminal mastermind.

Edgar Allen Poe laid out the rules for a fully satisfying revenge in his story The Cask of Amontillado:
The revenge has to be worse than the original offense.
You have to get away with it.
The person has to know who did it, and why, yet there’s nothing they can do about it.
Take away any of those factors, and it isn’t a fully satisfying revenge plot.
It’s a tiny bear, imported from Russia. $8000.

Putin has always justified his invasion of Ukraine using similar language. I specifically remember him dismissing their history saying something very similar to "Ukraine as a state has no geopolitical meaning, no particular cultural import or universal significance, no geographic uniqueness, no ethnic exclusiveness, " and other nearly direct quotes.
Clear confirmation that Putin is using this publication as his playbook.

It was published in 1997. Time flies when you’re resisting oppression.

Try the Wikipedia entry under Content. It breaks down the plans for each region.
Interestingly, it mentions Iran is a key ally, referring to the “Moscow-Tehran Axis.”

Their wives would be so mad!
“Glitter!? Again? How many times have I told you I to stay out of that strip joint? I hope you like the couch, that’s where you’ll be sleeping for a while!”

If they were just bounty hunters, with no ID or uniforms, and somebody stopped them, I doubt any judge would allow a case to go forward. There is no law that says citizens have to cooperate with violent, unidentified strangers.

Don’t forget, the State decides if it’s self-defense or not, and Self-Defense states tend to be Red. Florida has some of the “strongest” Self-Defense laws, and the State would side with these goons every time.

That’s exactly what this is, a new form of lynching. In a way, it’s even worse than lynching. They may not be hanging them from a tree, but they are destroying the lives of entire families.
So how much did this cost?
