  • I just started Cryptmaster today and it’s even better than I was anticipating!

It’s charming, wryly funny, and the art style is incredible. It’s as close to a lighthearted D&D session in tone I’ve experienced and I adore it.

Got it in a pick-your-own bundle alongside Meg’s Monster which I’ve yet to play but still excited! Haven’t regretted it yet.

    I love this photo.

The bright colors contrasted with the worn nature of the metal and signs creates a sort of liminal, nostalgic feeling. It kind of reminds me of Toy Story, in a way. The ceiling adds to that really well.

Knowing the rules of photography is only a first step, so you can break them to make art that’s authentic to you. You consciously broke those rules to create this piece, which is the sign of a developed artist. It’s awesome.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Is it genetic, or an outcome of having zero support system as a result of basically being ignored and treated like we’re just “weird” or “not trying hard enough,” with no explanation for why we are the way we are?

I’m willing to bet if I was given proper accommodations and not treated like a deficient burden by my family and school I’d be much more emotionally resilient and well.

Seriously, there’s plenty of studies correlating early trauma to worse mental and physical health outcomes over a person’s lifetime. This is validating in a way, but to imply it’s fated and innate feels shortsighted.

Originally? To play with image AI models when they first came out.

Then I got that taste of freedom and Windows felt icky. Haven’t touched that side of my dual boot for non-work purposes in years. Even for work it’s a last resort.

  • “We” is a very strong word here.

You’ll find a lot of folks online pointing out that missing attribution is not okay and artist intent should be respected. Cropped artist watermarks/added reposter watermarks are shitty, and acknowledged as such.

My own personal feelings are that expression should be free (with attribution), but I also acknowledge we live under a system where taking an individual’s art can take food off their table, which is not ethically conscionable. Unfortunately AI takes food off artists’ tables en masse then turns around and sells it for profit.

Sharing AI output, even for free, and claiming it as your own work or not putting a disclaimer that it’s AI can be argued as a form of fraud for those reasons. People will look for a source and not providing one (if you know of it) creates an environment of distrust, which often is systemically exploited by bad actors at the upper echelons of society, AI or not.

  • Slime Rancher 2!

It officially launched on the 23rd and I’ve been playing it (admittedly sparingly) since then. The environments are lush, the slimes are just as cute plus new ones, and the gameplay discovery feels delightfully natural.

The upgrade loop is slower and it can make managing ranch/exploration balance trickier than the original but on easy settings it’s not too much of an issue.

Overall it’s pretty relaxing and it’s well worth the ~$20USD on Steam while it’s on sale. Oh and the original is on sale for $2! Highly recommend.
