I already know the movies from when I was a kid.

I generally need way more context for that scene.
This is literally a consequence of urban sprawl & cars, not cities. lol
They have buttons on the shoes too. Still, having a battery for something like this is just wasteful and pointless. People with disabilities have already several unpowered alternatives that work perfectly fine and as mentioned, those things are clearly not designed for that purpose in mind anyway.
TIL about self-lacing shoes… What a waste of fucking resources. Might as well add some flashing red lights at the back of the soles if you already have batteries in them.
No, I’m actually with them on that one. The he / they issue in of itself is tiny, I agree, and if they’d just changed it from gendered to gender neutral language then nobody would’ve even cared. Most of us tend to write in a gendered way out of habit or because we think about our own gender, and in a casual conversation that isn’t that important. But this is about a piece of software that, surely, is not just meant for male audiences. It’s just unprofessional to address someone as male by default. Most importantly though, being this stubborn on having the user specifically male is just a weird hill to die on, but even weirder if that particular action is the one that is actually causing the drama - which they allegedly claim wanting to prevent by dismissing “politics”. And I’m sorry, but changing a “he” to “they” is not politics, it’s just including non male users. Nothing more, nothing less. So why is it such an issue to not just address specifically male users? It really only would be because those people hold some very questionable views, which, in my opinion, clash heavily with the whole concept of free and open source software, which is supposedly for everyone. So if your actions and views are this flawed, how can you be trusted on such an important project?
Also, in regards to this news… “no code from rivals” also is just a stupid thing to say and do. There’s plenty of good open source code that they could and probably even SHOULD use. But whatever. I’m not gonna support this project and predict it will fail anyway.
The EU is genociding children in Palestine? What a dumb fucking take to make.
Mbin runs fairly well, yes. The last major federation issues I saw were a quite a while back and were on Lemmy’s end, due to their own updates.
Not sure when the last time was exactly, a couple years ago maybe. Until it refused to work without updating it, and the update of course caused it to not work anymore and also nuke all my Skyrim mods with it.
My main gripe with it is how confusing and unintuitive it is though. So even if I were to go through the bother of trying to get it running on Linux again, I’d have to first know that it would’ve improved on that front. But with the new app coming and MO2 running much better and being much more intuitive, I don’t really see the point.
Blow the source up. If they can do sabotage hits without consequences then so should we.
No, I’m using a completely different type of software. The communities on the three Tankie instances I actively block when they pop up.
It would’ve cost you less time to put that term into your address bar and let your favorite search engine take you to Wikipedia and other informative sources, than writing this comment and constantly wondering what that term means. It’s absolutely not a term related to Lemmy, it’s just that lemmy.ml, lemmygrad, hexbear and the Lemmy developers themselves are Tankies.
There’s r2modman for a lot of games, which is a native Linux mod manager using the Thunderstore for its mods. There’s also ModOrganizer2 which can work somewhat okayish on Linux but Protontricks, which is a dependency, is currently a sore spot. https://github.com/rockerbacon/modorganizer2-linux-installer
Hopefully it is not as unintuitive and confusing as Vortex. That was probably the absolute worst mod manager I have ever used. But we definitely do need some Linux compatible mod manager for Bethesda games (r2modman covers a lot of other ones already).
Those who aren’t Tankies.
Not everyone here uses Lemmy.
You’re continuing to make a fool out of yourself dude. BRICS and “the East” are not synonymous. But yes, there are also potential talks about Serbia joining BRICS.
I think you’re greatly missing the point of my comment.
