P6P here had it since day one. My battery is not in the best shape, but not terrible either.
I just charge when it’s needed and adaptive charging has done a pretty good job of keeping the battery healthy.
Overall though at the end of the day I’m not sure there’s too much we as the user have control over.
I’ve stopped using lemmy for the most part and sync so who da fuq knows.
I still don’t get notifications from sync.
Wow the marvels of modern science.
Amazing in 2023 people still referencing that 30 year old battery University article.
And liquid screen protector with a physical screen protector? C’mon my guy it’s just a phone.
It is interesting that the price has already dropped on the P8 and is expected to continue to drop thru black Friday.
This is precisely why I never buy new anymore, having been burned by two previous Pixel releases in the past.
This chip situation doesn’t bode well for my continued Pixel use however.
Software is important but it isn’t everything, and like the article said raw horsepower does matter. For me. The most important things are battery, life display brightness, and cellular connectivity - something my pixel 6 Pro objectively fails at on all three fronts.
Combine that with all of the data theft that Google software utilizes, and I think I’m pretty much done.
Oh sick burn NPR now you have to find a new Democrat platform to shovel your state sponsored Democrat propaganda. Have fun with the website and newsletters.
I’m interested in graphene. Pixel 6 pro do it now or wait until support ends?
Thanks for the write up. I think the price bump seems justified for the two years extra updates, but let’s be honest a lot of us felt the Pixel line should have had this two years ago, so the price bump really isn’t warranted. Not for me at least with a P6P.
I’m in the same boat and remember seeing reports that the chipset is not expected to run much cooler which is my main reason for wanting to ditch the P6P.
Here’s one example: An Insta 360 camera for a single 10 minute video can produce upwards of 10gb of data.
Those video files can only really be transferred to your phone for editing and sharing.
That’s ONE example that doesn’t include gaming (a highly mainstream community) that also requires gigabytes of storage.
Same boat. There is enough about the p6p to want to ditch, but I want to stay with Android but don’t know what would be the best to upgrade to. This Pixel 8 doesn’t seem like the right device.
This is a mental disorder that you need looked into.
Seriously. Fewer and fewer people are using Google as a search engine anyways. I know it’s miniscule, but people are aware of Duck Duck go, and aware of Google’s spy apparatus, hence why in any survey or poll they conduct they ask the user’s opinion on how well they think Google is doing with their private data. I always score them the lowest possible.
What we should be concerned with is how many websites and third party logins use Google.
Would never happen.
Yea thanks for the downvotes then. Guess we’re not all friends here.
Enjoy the strike community
Seems this Niles character could have taken Maris for half, but then again the show’s not rooted in reality.
It’s the name of the fucking app for god’s sakes
