I use the GE-Proton-Latest and I’m not sure if that’s a good or bad thing. It feels like it’s making everything else obsolete (unless of course you need an older version)

DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Nexus Gamers are going to test gpus on Linux (Bazzite)2·22 days ago100%. I run Cachy on my main PC, Bazzite on my son’s steam gaming console and tow laptops. It IS pure bliss.
DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Nexus Gamers are going to test gpus on Linux (Bazzite)3·22 days agoIt should, but few of us follow, unfortunately. :/
DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Nexus Gamers are going to test gpus on Linux (Bazzite)7·22 days agoHe also mentioned Cachy as a viable option for Steve alongside Baszzite, with the caveats on both. I’m glad Steve decided on Bazzite. I’m a Cachy OS user myself, but I still like Bazzite for the purpose Steve needs it for. I think it’ll be great and I hope he succeeds, genuinely

DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Nexus Gamers are going to test gpus on Linux (Bazzite)10·22 days agoVery true. I guess I could have phrased it better. But you’re right, not everyone needs to dig deeper into Linux, a lot of us want to just enjoy their system that just works. I’m actually one of those people.
DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Nexus Gamers are going to test gpus on Linux (Bazzite)64·23 days agoAnd excellent, because being linux, drawing attention to issues increases the chances of them getting fixed, whereas that is hardly the case for Windows.
This is the most important part of this whole thing to me. Imagine Nvidia watching Steve shitting on them for having horrible drivers on Linux and millions of people seeing that.
DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldto Linux@lemmy.ml•Nexus Gamers are going to test gpus on Linux (Bazzite)1561·23 days agoThis is great. Honest people like Steve and Wendell are great for Linux. Let’s make sure, as a community, we don’t give them a hard time about their distro of choice. I think bazzite is an excellent choice to start until they get comfortable digging deeper into the system.

You didn’t say which GPU! If it’s all AMD, then just replace. That’s what I did and everything worked fine. If you’re going from AMD to Nvidia, them install the Nvidia drivers first, turn it off, replace, turn back on

I orgasm hard when I find a new error other than the one I’ve been battling for the better part of a week.
DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldOPto Steam@lemmy.ml•How to change this picture in steam (I don't know what it's called)1·2 months agoHmmm, I’ll need to dig into those folders one by one then to find out which one is the non-steam games folders. Also, I’ve found a folder called “grid” buried somewhere in the steam folder, but that one only has the images I’ve already set
DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldOPto Steam@lemmy.ml•How to change this picture in steam (I don't know what it's called)1·2 months agoThat sets the image that I attached to the post. Also, this is a non-steam app, so the whole file structure is different, right?
DonutsRMeh@lemmy.worldOPto Steam@lemmy.ml•How to change this picture in steam (I don't know what it's called)1·2 months agoSo, this is a non-steam game that I have added to it. So, all the paths you have mentioned are not there in this case. They even have different file structure. I was hoping that steam has a folder somewhere for these games where I can go in and add images
