If you’re the only one that needs access to the data, you can PGP encrypt it yourself. If you need shared access, there’s no way to protect the contents. Telemetry mitigation is standard.
After the last experience, very proudly homophobic.

That’s why I have a separate gaming PC
No I’m referring to Watch Dogs that is a video game franchise by Ubisoft. I knew people here would misunderstand. Sorry for that.
They track information such as your spending habits and how you interact with their marketing messages, and they now also combine all of your personal information they have collected about you to profile you, they also get information about you from third-parties. Quoted from the updated policy: Information from third parties about you, such as identity, preferences and inferences about you…
Man I’m getting crazy strong WD vibes with this one. I can just recommend not using that service anymore. You can mitigate third party tracking but if such an invasive service has something to do with your ID or banking info, it is very bad for privacy no matter what you do.
The original topic wasn’t about tax either.
Taxes are not the only things that matter, mister/miss. In the US you at least aren’t legally forced to use Windows and I’m not even talking about the fact that the US supports genocide. But who am I talking to? Americans are fully dead inside and won’t understand. There’s no way to revive them.
Same question. I checked out Signal not a long time ago and it was really good looking. The only thing regular users may not like is the encryption key verification thing but it’s not really a UI issue.
Telegram FOSS doesn’t remove ads anymore
Of course money is not a real valuable resource but I will fight for the right of not owning digital devices. Forcing it makes no good sense to me and it will pronounce the death of privacy as a word. They will find some proprietary system like Play Integrity (but worse) to lock it in for “security”.
Sorry but now with the edit I can’t recommend anything because the radars seem to always be very proprietary for some reason. I know some good weather apps. One of them has a feature called “weather emergency notices” or something like that. It can be what you’re looking for but I’m not sure. “Breezy Weather” is the name if you’re curious.
Having Google analytics means it’s the same as a Google owned website. You shouldn’t recommend such services for privacy.
I think deprecating physical cash must be highly illegal because everyone has the right not to own a phone.
What’s the status on swipe typing on foss android keyboards?
Some have it, some don’t. Idk why but I heard the swipe functionality relies on some kind of Google library that you can install manually on some FOSS keyboards if they don’t have the feature. Idk if it’s safe for privacy though. I never learned swipe keyboards anyways so here I’m on the “just don’t use it” side :) (jk)
Aren’t we talking about privacy and freedom as the main concerns here?
Well it surely is much much worse than my country by the looks of it.
The point of getting a separate device is similar to using a VPN - to use proprietary and invasive software without getting the personal data stored on the main devices sent to third parties. The business device still can send some data (like WiFi connection info, approximate location and microphone recordings) but the personal data should be safe. It may not be a viable option for very high threat models though since Windows can have backdoors that the government might use to inject malware into all the devices connected to the same network.
I think what you can do is just get a separate computer running Windows for all your business stuff and business stuff only. I’d also recommend ALWAYS using a VPN on it if legally possible.
Hmm I didn’t know the UK was THIS bad.
Well I’m not rich enough to have a console. And wait there are DRM-free copies? But aren’t they like 10x the price of normal ones?
