Been using Fenix since it was Firefox Preview, never noticed any sluggishness. It’s faster than Brave for everything other than colds-starting PWAs.

ProtonAOSP lets you install microG as an unprivileged app, but with signature spoofing. I like that approach, but the location services in Calyx are a bit too useful. Thanks again!

Hell yeah! I imagine they’ll keep coming, soon as bootloader unlocking is available again. I believe the chap who maintains LOS on the Zenfone 8 also owns a ZF9, so you may be in luck… Omni is rock solid though, usually better than LOS!

Not really. They announced how to add any extension ages ago, but I’m glad they’ve taken time to get things working properly so it doesn’t feel like a beta anymore.

Just add a custom addon collection. The most useful one for me so far has been Mozilla’s translation extension, which they’ve adapted to mobile very well. Oh and libredirect, works perfectly even tho it has the desktop UI

UHHH… it does. There are at least 3 in active development, plus official TWRP which is being constantly updated and one or two kernels including Kirisakura.

Hell yeah! I’ve been using desktop extensions in Mull for the last year, but this will mean more extensions are actively developed for Android !!

I completely agree with you. Selling my Zenfone 9 on eBay right now though, because they’ve decided to stop us from unlocking the bootloader.

I refuse to use Android as stock, so now I’ve gone and bought a Pixel 6 Pro. Not looking forward to the size as my 4a 5G is already too big, but hoping 4x camera is worth all the trade offs.

My ZF9 and the ZF8 are the best phones I’ve ever had apart from the aforementioned flaw. The ZF8 had problems with overheating and battery life, but the ZF9 completely solved those. The size is perfect, and the headphone jack is just a necessity. Gutted to have to give it up, but I’ve completely lost faith in Asus thanks to the bootloader bullshit
