Install proxmox, and play around with Linux containers, if it goes wrong just delete it and start over. Also installing change detection is quite easy using helper scripts: https://helper-scripts.com/scripts?id=Change+Detection

Just curious, is there anything like that for Facebook? Facebook groups specifically.

I’ve been using proxmox mainly with lxc containers for years. I gave an lxc running docker and portainer, for a few services I have running in docker.

I wouldn’t do it with anything critical it anything that needs mich performance or resources. But honestly most things don’t need that.

So is you like me just need a few docker containers and you already have everything else running - this can be a fine way to do it. Go for it :)

In Denmark Uber was told they can’t operate, you need a license to drive a taxi so the amount of taxis match with the amount of people - if there are to many taxis everyone can’t make a living wage.

Uber could register as a normal taxi company, but they were not interested in that.

Funny thing for the short period they were operating most the drivers didn’t register to pay taxes of the income, but tax department just asked Uber for a list of drivers and their income.

I’m running the app in an lxc on proxmox for unifi, works perfectly:)

I’m undecided about getting dedicated hardware for OpnSense. It would be nice when rebooting, but I don’t do that often. But then again, it runs fine on the server as a virtual medicine so no need for an extra machine to use power.

For now it will stay virtual. :)

I use unifi access points for wifi, and have an OpnSense router/firewall running on my server (proxmox).

That works really well, only negative ting is that if I reboot my server the internet is down while doing that. But that doesn’t happen very often.

I agree it’s over, I moved here and don’t care about Reddit anymore. :)
