Ever heard of a teardown? Go watch some on Youtube or Peertube. You won’t find many that fail to disclose the manufacturer, that break the plastics, nor will you find many, if any, blenders that use a more common screw-head for the motor shaft.

I deal with worse than this Blender on a daily basis, or rather I might, if the internals of the devices I work with weren’t behind literal lock-and-key, and yet, NONE of them are left un-supervised with your standard schmuck, their CHILDREN and pets.

HIDDEN screws, glues, DRM and fragile tabs are indeed a real problem. They are major reasons we need service manuals and “guitar pics” and all sorts of other non-sense that inspired the Right-to-Repair movement. OP’s Blender has NONE of those things.

Okay, but, 4k has literally 4 times the number of pixels that 1080P does, 3840 horizontal(“4k”?) versus 1920(“2k”?), and 2160 versus 1080 vertical. We are not so far from breaking the “1000pixels” interpretation completely; “13k” would be 12,480 pixels wide.

Seems to me that marketers are trying to conflate “k” and Megapixels, but if we started using Megapixels for Displays, the side-by-side numbers would look truely pathetic(versus what “seems common/attainable”, not what’s “percievable”.

Full HD/1080P is 1K. If you meant better than 1080P though, then more power to you.

Seatbelts tend to be held in with Torx-head bolts. Right bicycle pedals have left-hand-threaded studs. Spanner-screws are a standard you’ll find drivers for in any good security or electronics/small-appliance repair set.

Odds aren’t that far off that this screw was chosen for their blenders decades ago when this screw-driver was more common, and this one part was never updated as the design … “evolved”.

Pro-tip: cut the hair along the roller with a knife. Don’t have to unwind it more than a single turn this way.

They didn’t have to do anything destructive to “expose” the screw. They were too lazy to find a better way to see the bottom of the hole it was in.

That’s a standard spanner-head screw. No welding required. The bits and drivers are not so hard to come by, or make.

$30 bucks. An endoscope is $30 bucks, and well worth it.
