Technology@lemmy.world•Former GM Executive: BYD cars are good in terms of design, features, price, quality. If we let BYD into the U.S. market, it could end up destroying american manufacturersEnglish
391·4 months agoFormer GM Executive: BYD cars are better and cheaper than American. If we let BYD into the U.S. Market, we wouldn’t be able to be greedy and enshitify our products any more, which would end up destroying american car manufacturers. FTFY.
P.S. Actually the average american would be benefited from that

Fuck Cars@lemmy.world•Throw away your children’s future for an overpriced metal boxEnglish
61·5 months agoGen X here. I think I deeply care for my children, and will probably go to dept to fund my children tertiary education, because I could afford it any other way. And I live in a country where college is free, but still needs money to fund the rest (rent, food etc.) That bagging and tagging shouldn’t be a one size fits all

Contractually, I have to work 162.5h/m or 37.5h/w
I have automated what could be automated, I’m streamlining my procedures and my red tape to be done as efficient as possible.
I think that my daily workload can be done in about 4 to 4.5 hours daily, but I still have to punch my card.
So I have time to post on Lemmy.
Tbh a 4 day/20h week is the optimum of productivity.

Technology@lemmy.world•OpenAI declares AI race “over” if training on copyrighted works isn’t fair useEnglish
2·8 months agoI couldn’t agree more. The thing with IP is that it tends to last almost forever, thus it almost never enters public domain, at least in a man’s lifetime. The result is it stifles innovation and prevents knowledge NAD entertainment to the masses. Lastly almost always, it’s not the creator that benefits of it, rather than a huge corp

232·8 months agoI’m fine for them to use copyrighted material, provided that everyone can do the same without reprecautions Fuck double standards. Fuck IP. People should have access to knowledge without having to pay.
PS. I know this might be an unpopular opinion
Edit: typos
