Joining in on the love for material files. I’ve been using it a long time. The more I’ve got into FOSS apps I’ve come to realise that they are feature rich, lightweight and ad free. Its the difference between using something designed to be a good product vs something that is designed to squeeze as much out of you as possible

Yeah its crazy, its not even that much more inconvenient to use another service. people just tend to stick to what everyone else does I guess

Yeah I’ve always wanted to try but my phones haven’t been very root friendly either. I think maybe next phone I will do research and give it a try. Not sure what I’d do it for other than more privacy though 😅

You could try app ops instead I think this has a similar function? Canta for removing system apps

Second for mint, very easy to use. Also customisable if that’s your thing

You could try refreezer which is a mod of deezer. Allows you to download locally. Not the highest quality you can get but it’s convenient and free

I tend to use temp email sites and sign up somewhere in my city with public WiFi. I also only use tor to access Lemmy. Is this too much? 🤣

Things I have done:

-install adguard and route all my traffic through it

• enable always on VPN and block connections without

-firewall all apps to block internet connection

-only allow apps the apps i want to use internet on

-replace everything I possibly can with FOSS software

-disable everything google and use helioboard as keyboard

-install shizuku and canta to debloat as much as I can

-route all traffic through orbot (except apps that require me to login)

This is probably overkill but that’s the best I could do on stock android 🤭
