even on a less well-maintained system it’s probably not going to be the kernel having a freakout, the kernel is going to be just fine while something else shits itself (probably graphics drivers on a desktop tbh, my vega 10 loves to vomit onto the screen and pass out)
thus the actual answer is “move to a place where you don’t need a car to live”, you don’t need to worry about the repairability of public transport vehicles and bikes are trivial to repair.
you realize like 90% of australians live in 6 cities, right?
wear patterns on statues is my favourite thing
i’m not a vegan or vegetarian, but from my experience with various plant-based proteins i honestly just do not see the point
we already have perfectly affordable vegan proteins that, while not identical to meat or even necessarily that close, are absolutely as satisfying to chew on and very tasty.
Really, all you need is a chunk of mostly pure protein of any kind and it’s doubtful people are going to much notice the difference if it’s part of a dish and they aren’t given a chance to study the protein in detail.
The only thing you’d really need lab-grown meat for is steaks, which are overrated anyways and like… god eating steak is such a violently bougie thing! The shelves with ground meat here are hilarious because the cheaper ground pork is constantly completely sold out while the ground beef is barely even touched, so i doubt people would even notice the disappearance of the steak that costs 6 times as much…

we cast unionization, using “strike” metamagic to raise the efficiency
unrelated to the OP but a suggestion for your problem:
Waveup has a setting to lock the screen after X seconds with the proximity sensor covered, it’s not very sophisticated and thus it can be a bit over-eager, but if the phone being interacted with by your leg while in the pocket is driving you up the wall then this should fix that.
i can assure you japan isn’t that much saner than the rest of us, like really the one big thing they have going for them is pretty good urban planning and public transport.
Where most nations have people working their asses off because they need money to buy food, japan made the innovation of having people work themselves to death mostly out of social obligation instead! Much more exciting.
also fishing regulations afaik
this is effectively the hardware equivalent of having a public API, sure you could technically reverse engineer your own server implementation, but really you’re going to use it to make stuff that interacts with the existing server.
Most CEOs could be automated with a random number generator that runs on a combustion engine fueled by burning dollar bills.
it’s like how techbros constantly want to reinvent transportation, if they assign an AI to give them an answer it would just say “build more railways and trains” and they’d throw it out a window in anger
it’s not a waste of time lol, are you stuck in car-centric thinking where getting groceries is an hour long affair? for me it takes like 20 minutes to buy stuff of which most of it is just getting to the store, and i don’t even live that close to the store!
looking at the map, light rail seems like it should work fine? It’s not that sprawly, there are pretty clear urban clusters that you could just slap some rail onto the roads going between.
i think you’re presuming the transport has to be profitable? which obviously will only ever justify some subway lines in metropoles and train lines connecting major cities.
because it relies on the… i don’t remember the name of their position but they’re the top judges, it relies on them to actually say that it counts as an official act, and since the majority of them are corrupt republicans they’ll just find a way to say “well actually what biden did wasn’t an official act”.
It’s just a farce to make people think the country still has a functional legal system and government when in fact they pulled out the life support years ago…
