To make a counterpoint to all the views stated here: statistically, countries which have banned guns see far fewer gun deaths per capita than America. Gun bans work to reduce death, whatever else you may think.
Every country besides perhaps some central African ones were colonized by people from another area. What do you even mean by ‘non-colonial’ countries?
I appreciate I made an edit to add more to my comment that you may not have seen; are you equivocating ‘the laws of nature’ with empirical knowledge (ie knowledge which can be gained by evaluating our sensory experience and assuming that it represents a true world)? If not, how are you defining it?
What do you mean by supernatural?
It means ‘beyond the natural world’, I think, but what does ‘natural’ mean? That is exists without humans? That it’s good for the planet? That it’s something theoretically knowable by empirical means? That’s it’s something knowable by logical/rational means?
I believe that I as a conscious experience exist. I don’t believe anything else with certainty, although I believe a great many things conditional on the empirical (‘natural’?) world being assumed to be true.
Over 24hrs several times. It’s easy when you skip supper the previous day and stay in bed all day.
My jeans very rarely have actual pockets, so sometimes they have a back pocket for transporting my phone small distances, but if I’m going out it all goes in my handbag.
Here’s one I took of the other side of the river
I’ve never seen any in London. As far as I’m aware, you need to order these things online. Only the Apple/Google/Samsung devices are in physical shops
I took A Level Maths, and I just find it really tiring mentally far more than any other task I do, so after doing some practise and still having to do more, I found it draining and unpleasant. Some people say they enjoy the process, I just don’t. I don’t know exactly why, I just don’t feel the same surge of pleasure that others do when they solve a problem I guess. I like programming though, which is applying maths, and I like being able to use maths to active my goals. I don’t enjoy doing it for its own sake.
That doesn’t sound either like an atlas, or something necessarily inappropriate for a 6 year old.
What would an age inappropriate atlas be? 👀
What did this post say before it was edited to ‘didn’t phrase correctly’?
I just had to install the NVIDIA proprietor drivers from Software on Fedora and reboot and it worked no problem. NVIDIA also has better software support for ML, so you’re fortunate to have an NVIDIA card.
So competing based on the barrel of a gun is better? You do have a point, that the majority’s beliefs affect more a random person’s beliefs if the random person is irrational than the merit of an idea, but surely enforcing the ideas of a minority - or even a majority - is even worse?
Everything is allowed to be spoken about under freedom of speech, no matter how despicable people find it.
That’s interesting, I didn’t know it was a pantheon. I was under the impression that Zoroastrianism, with its one creator god Ahura Mazda dominated in the region before Islam.
For some reason I’m really interested in Ancient Middle Eastern history and mythology, eg Mesopotamian, Canaanite pantheon, etc
Because we have freedom of speech so ideas can compete with each other on their own merits, as they should, rather than ideas being forced upon people on the barrel of a gun.
The only place I’ve been in America is NJ/NYC, for the rest of my life I’ve travelled exclusively outside of America.
