  • If gender is whatever an individual feels like, then this event was just thousands of women and non-binary folks,

The event could be “thousands of women and non-binary folks”. Did all these male-presenting people identify as women or non-binary just to be able to attend this event?

What do you think identity politics is, exactly? Just a way to make changes you don’t like to make you unhappy? It couldn’t possibly be about people trying to make social changes so they’re not constantly treated like shit. Oh no. The horror.

  • A fish rots from the head. Corporate culture all flows from the CEO and board. If a bigoted piece of shit is in charge, this is what you get. Because the top of the company sets and enforces policy. So if they don’t care about bigotry or if they are bigoted themselves, they won’t set or enforce policies to stop it. They will hire bigoted management. Those bigots won’t stop it and probably encourage it. They hire bigoted workers who will persecute others and face no consequences. Those who anti-bigots can report but will be ignored or face retaliation.

  • Ok well 2001 was kind of an outlier… you’re not wrong. It was slow when I watched it in the 90s lol.

But, watch something like The Maltese Falcon. Which I did recently.

I had no issue following. It didn’t plod along in my view (of course I’m middle aged and don’t do tiktok). But it also wasn’t rapid fire constant clamor. There was space to absorb and reflect as the story evolved. And you need that space because it’s mentally challenging.

One thing that hit hard is how it is a good, interesting story above all else. Definitely gives theater vibes and made me realize how hollow a lot of movies are.

Anyway. There are lots of examples from the 60s and 70s that are slower paced and a lot less busy and chaotic than modern films for sure.

  • For all of us bitter people who couldn’t get an RPi 3 let alone 4 for less than a fortune during the recent dark times…

We’d like to thank you: we’re going to ringfence all of the Raspberry Pi 5s we sell until at least the end of the year for single-unit sales to individuals, so you get the first bite of the cherry.

So I will probably preorder one because why not.
