Average cat is 12 pounds, so 4 pounds overweight is like a person who should be 180lb weighing 240lb. Also, a hungry cat is a fucking nightmare to live with.

Update: I got an 8860 from eBay for $70, and it’s such a cool set. To be able to directly compare it to 8865 is makes both even more special, seeing the evolution and how they’re related.

So my mom’s in her 70s and prioritized buying us Lego growing up, but I’ve never seen her actually build any. I think this is the year I’ll change that by getting her the Beautiful Horse Creator set for Xmas. It should be fun to hear what she thinks about building it.

It was a pleasure to build, so I’m looking to buy the 8860 test car chassis now that I’m aware of it. Hopefully prices are reasonable, especially since I don’t need box or instructions - I just want to build and see the set IRL!

Man, I remember that forklift set - I didn’t end up getting any of the pneumatic stuff, but it’s so cool.

Mixing up sets with our general Lego was one of my mom’s specialities and how 8865 disappeared in the first place.

I’m considering which of my childhood sets to attempt a resurrection from my tubs of Lego next - pirate or castle (I think Knight’s Castle is in there), or there was a fire station with a garage door, a raceway with a bunch of cars, I also vaguely remember a Shell gas station.
