  • Perception researcher here. So you probably are aware that if you have a stuffy nose, your food taste different.

Well. Technically what you experience when eating is a combination of smell and taste sensations.

Molecules from food in your mouth travel up your throat into nasal cavities. And of course. Can come in through the nose.

This combination perception is called “flavor”. That’s the technical term. Although this word often means “taste” in layman.

Anyway. My point is. That smell heavily influences flavor.

Which is what a lot of people think of as “taste” but taste is exclusively tongue receptors.

So your argument is sound. The experience of the smell is a strong indicator of the flavor.

  • It’s not biological. It’s social learning.
Men have just as much ability to form social bonds.

Men have the same amount of emotions. Same emotional responses.

There is a ton of research on this.

It’s our society and gender roles that keep men from having cooperative friendships.

They are told as children they have to one up each other and never cooperate. Never show sadness to other boys/men.

But they still have those feelings. And hiding them actually just creates mental health problems and behavior problems.

  • I did some lighting photography about 15 years ago. I did 30 second shots too. And then I also stacked some in processing to get some more dramatic shots.

Spent 2 occasions out in a storm trying to get photos. Probably nearly an hour each session

Nothing I got was that good tho.

Probably something that takes a lot of sessions to land the perfect shots.

    Like wildlife photography.

I never had that kind of patience.
