  • Thanks for the linked blogpost about Kagi! That saved me a lot of money.

It really changed my mind about it… I want to support a privacy focused search engine, not an AI-loving mess without focus on their core product.

I will have a look at MetaGer next. Although I am sad that there is still no good original search engine with it’s own results… Still all depending on Google and Microsoft.

  • Thank you, I found it!

In my menu (german): Belichtung/Farbe - [1]Belichtung - ISO AUTO Min. VS

Maybe in english: Exposure/Color - [1]Exposure - ISO AUTO Min. ET

With the setting ISOASS-250 it now won’t go below 1/250 exposure time, as long as it can turn up the ISO higher. When it reaches the maximum ISO (I set it to 6400), only then it will adjust the exposure time.

ISOASS wasn’t exactly the keyword I was loocking for.

    Thanks for your help!

  • I thought the same way, so I put ISO into auto-mode with a range from 100-6400. But I noticed that the camera still goes down to 1/30 shutter speed when shooting with 50 mm, with an ISO of 250 or so. Which would be ok’ish, if I would stand still, but I have to move a lot and would prefer if the shutter speed wouldn’t go below e.g. 1/200 to compansate for my movements. I don’t care about high ISO-numbers to compensate for a faster shutter speed.

The problem with M-Mode is, that I also have to go from inside to outside quite often. The much stronger light outside would ruin the fotos, if I would forget to turn the shutter speed up. ISO in auto-mode wouldn’t help, as it can only go as low as 100.

So best thing would be A-Mode, with auto-ISO, and a minimum shutter speed of let’s say 1/200. And only if auto-ISO reaches the top-limit, the shutter speed would be used to compensate.

  • I tried what you are describing: Using a Pi4 and loading lineageOS (KonstaKANG) on it. Before that I tried libreELEC with Kodi or something like that… Internet via WLAN. Both setups suck. Everything is slow, input with my cableless keyboard/touchpad is laggy and I am not using the TV because of it… Watching jellyfin on my smartphone is more convenient.

But I am new to all this stuff, so maybe I missed some ways to optimize this setup. Next time I will just take a long HDMI cable and connect the TV with my main PC.

  • It’s hard to relate, because I wouldn’t even know if there are businesses in my area which only use facebook - because I don’t use facebook.

I wanted to use a business that wanted me to send them pictures of my drive way via Whatsapp. I ended up taking my business to a different guy, who was able to work with mail. No harm done, everyone is still happy, still no need for Meta products.

Edit: of course I acknowledge that I don’t know anything about you or your situation. You maybe really can’t work/live without facebook.
