Psychonauts 2. Was a huge fan of the original on PS2 and I can’t believe it’s taken me years to try the sequel. The animation, level design, and writing are all at the level of quality and creativity that I wanted to see videogames progress to some day when I was a kid. This is a playable DreamWorks film.

I don’t even remember the last time Stephanie Sterling did anything like this, so it was just a weird blip. Not that she doesn’t goof a bunch. Still a great channel to stay up to date on the things that actually matter in the games industry instead of the usual hype machine shit. The only thing I don’t care for on the show is the wrestling stuff and when the editor does some schtick.

I’m sure Nintendo intentionally throttles the Switch to improve battery life, preserve the integrity of the hardware, and provide a consistent experience. Not to defend their decision at all. I just think it’s funny how people tend to react to learning about how much the Switch is artificially held back, as if Nintendo is just being stupid about the potential of their own console. I think it’s very likely they did plenty of testing and concluded that the specs they targeted provided the best balance of positive overall user experience with the least amount of complications for developers. And it clearly worked because it’s one of the best selling consoles ever with a massive catalogue of titles. The small handful of power users who want a Switch 4K Pro are just destined to buy a Steam Deck anyway. Nintendo doesn’t want anything to do with that niche group of gamers lol.

1. She deserves her sentence. She should never be allowed to drive again for running over two children at twice the speed limit, trying to drive away with their blood all over her car as they die on the street. I don’t believe in prison as punishment in general, but she had her chance and turned a mistake into a double homicide. I think a better and much funnier sentence would be only being allowed to use the Metro for the rest of her life.
2. Yes, the street design is a problem and you’re absolutely correct that if a street allows drivers to go 80 mph, some inevitably will. This can and should be resolved. Narrow the road, add an island, sidewalk curb extensions, there are many options and any could have naturally slowed this maniac of a driver down to a speed where being struck isn’t an immediate death sentence.

Doesn’t matter. If your PC is ever compromised, that feature is a one stop shop for stealing everything you have ever done on your computer.

That’s the Wikipedia bias. The vast majority of pages are written and maintained by a small number of people with a Western Centrist perspective, which tends to be more conservative. You start to notice it more once you see it for the first time.

This is Microsoft, an American corporation, actively developing the things the Internet spazzes out about China probably doing. How happy this makes China? Buddy, imagine how happy this makes every marketing company in the world, your local police department, and your own government, all of which have a much more vested interest in everything you do on your computer and are considerably more of a threat to you than the ruling party of a country on the other side of the planet. Steam is already the biggest fish by far in the digital games market for PC. Only reason for them to do this is if they’re worried about losing that dominance. Basically, is Epic keeping them up at night enough to warrant a major push into a new hardware loss leader?

As a vegetarian who’s been excited for lab grown meat since I’d heard of the concept a decade ago, I wouldn’t hold your breath. It’s looking like one of those things that sounds great on paper, but isn’t viable at larger scale.

There should be no reason not to transcode onboard, right? Modern mobile devices could probably process video no problem and then the upload would be smaller and quicker than sending the original. Only issue might be long videos, but I think there’s a case to be made that these types of platforms should have a firm duration cap of only a few minutes tops.

Not to mention the road is regularly closed off to street traffic for movie premieres and events. I was hoping they’d go even further and turn this into a pedestrian only area.

I would love a federated network of video platforms as long as they can all be searched collectively. Would be great if videos could even be migrated to other instances if storage becomes too limited on one of them. Yeah, it probably isn’t ideal that YouTube is all one platform, but it certainly makes it easy to find what you’re looking for most of the time.
