Hello
I never really understood the concept of ChromeOS. Is there really such a use case of a computer entirely dedicated to running Chrome ?
Through the soon to be “Google WebTest, the WEI compliant test suite, powered by AI!”
Or something like that. Selling the antidote for the poison you created.
Redirecting twitter.com to another domain is not an impossible amount of work. What takes time is changing every references to the old domain name.
Always glad to see some people can burn their money like this
One more fell
Safe in limited amount, so just like normal sugar then. Just don’t drink liters of soda each day. (Or even better, don’t drink soda but water instead)
Kubuntu 14.04 burned on a CD my brother gave me when I started studying programming. Switched a lot along the way and ironically ended up on Kubuntu 23.04. I love KDE.
Phones are never good for environment, it’s a resource sink. But it’s better than most others and it’s enough :-)
A lot of phones are disposed of despite being perfectly functional (at least some are saved by the second hand market) just because the manufacturer released a new version with a slightly better camera sensor and more RAM. It has gotten a bit ridiculous. Fairphones are not perfect, but being able to keep them more than 2-3 years without being left with an unmaintained glued brick is what makes at least a small difference.
The whole philosophy of Fairphone is keeping it as long as possible through long term maintenance and access to spare part for self repairs. Fairphones are “outdated” almost at launch in terms of hardware in comparison to most phones on the market because this is not what we (fairphone customers) are looking for.
Gave up my windows boot and only use Linux since recently. I kept using Windows for gaming (although it means I used it 99% of the time as a result). But retried linux gaming with Proton and everything runs smoothly enough for me. From big games like SF6 to native games like POE, it’s such a pleasure to see that everything “just works” most of the time. I kept my W10 dual boot in case some specific game just cannot be handled by Linux.
With the switch to Lemmy and now a full switch to Linux, I’m glad I threw away all these adwares :-)
And by its very nature, the fairphone cost is amortized over the long time you won’t need to replace it with a brand new phone :-) (although you need to take into account the possibility of replacing an expensive part, which are not cheap indeed but still way cheaper than a new phone anyway)
You didn’t give your password but you gave your method for creating them which is not the best idea you know
Fairphone 3 user here. My main reason to choose this phone a few years ago was because the battery could easily be replaced. Too many phones are perfectly functional but the battery is half dead. Another boon of non-glued batteries : You can carry two (or more) batteries to easily switch when the first one is KO. Meaning no need for portable charger and useless cables in your pocket. Phone at 10% ? Just change it, bam 100% in a second. Easy as that.
I’ll probably not be the target of such regulations because I wouldn’t choose an anti-consumer phone brand anyway, but at least it’s going in the right direction.
And what are you ? Some statistics wizard ??
