I make slightly above average wage in my central European country now. Got quite significant raise in last 2 years (due to colleague leaving which also resulted in more work). I feel like I’m getting enough now, not rich by any standard, but we’re finally able to finance housing loan and buying a house. I also don’t see empty bank account at the end of the month like I used to (esp. when my wife was at maternity leave).

For this scenario, I can recommend Standard Notes and/or Notesnook. I’ve tried Joplin and Logseq and didn’t like either.
I remember reading about Snikket (hope I remember the name right) which should address exactly this.
They are. My friend’s brother works there.
I believe it’s IceWM.
Don’t forget and bring the towel.
I believe main goal of China investing in green tech is to show middle finger to oil and gas producers. China has virtually none of both oil and gas and so is reliant on import. With mostly green cars and electricity from water, sun and wind, they will have much, much better leverage in global say.
Thanks for pointing out at my sausage fingers typing error. Corrected.
Bloodlines is one of my all time favourite games. It’s not perfect gameplay wise, but it has probably the best world, characters and atmosphere I’ve encountered. I just love it.
Whenever Bloodlines 2 was announced I got excited. Then it went through developer hell and my expectations dropped to zero. Nowadays after I’ve seen and read couple previews and hands-ons, my hopes went up a notch and I started to get excited again.
Then release date and price got announced and I was like WTF? Cold shower. I know, it’s Paradox and the have billions of DLCs for everything, but still… Day one DLC should be a crime! If you feel the game is worth more or you have so much content you need a DLC (lol), either pack all in and rise a price bit or release that DLC later, not day one.
I’m a patient gamer with huge back log, so I probably wouldn’t buy at release anyway and wait for sale, but it still sucks to hear such a bullshit. I hope it’s going to be good game, or at least okish game with good story, characters and atmosphere, but it feels like they’re already tripping their legs with such moves.
Glad to hear I’m not the only “weirdo” here.
Well, I was never really thinking about this. But when I look back now, I’d say my dad. I feel like there won’t be many like this here on fediverse, because whenever I stumble upon family related topic it looks like nearly everyone here comes from dysfunctional families. I’m really glad I have parents that were caring, but also firm when needed, that shaped me to become normal (I hope so) functioning person.
What are you people doing with your PCs? I don’t mean it rude, I’m just curious. I admit I’m just regular home PC user, playing games, watching videos, doing some lame audio editing, nothing too serious. I just installed opensuse with btrfs some 4-5 years ago and never had single FS related problem since then. On the other hand it saved my ass multiple times either when I fucked something up or couple times when certain OS update didn’t work well with my PC.
I’m not saying it’s bulletproof, shit happens all the time, it’s just… Maybe I’m lucky? Just a fun fact: My PC at work with windows had way more problems (including filesystem ones) than I’ve had at home during said time.
Voyager on android, which is kind of beta-ish, but works good enough. And default web UI which I really like on desktop PC. The only feature I miss in Voyager so far is that “aggregated” threads on desktop, which is an awesome feature.
Those fines are always pocket money for these companies. Until it’s % of revenue based, it’s destined to be a joke.
Can you imagine Apple break down in foreseeable future? Because I can not.
But it’s good for bussines, isn’t it?
You can export your Lemmy preferences and subscriptions, then create new account at piefed and import the Lemmy stuff.
Mornings are rough, true. But when you hate the song enough, you can make your morning at least slightly better when you make that POS stop.
