I use my smart watch for 3 features
I don’t really do any sports, but it’s nice to know how many steps I took today and how far I walked. (it’s between 100m-20km per day)
Probably not since it doesn’t use infrared lasers or similar as far as I know
Because:
The 7 years of updates and that the software experience will be excellent, sold me to it. I don’t even consider Samsung phones because I absolutely hate their software. I also don’t consider buying an IPhone because I own an IPad and while not a terrible experience, it’s worse than on my Pixel.
Worse than the suboptimal battery life?
Just pre-ordered the 258GB Pixel 8 in rosé
Currently own a 4a and love it except for the battery life and the sometimes bad performance
Then buy the pro, sell the phone and keep the watch

It hasn’t been profitable for a long time. Its only recently that it became profitable
Edit: I actually couldn’t find anything about it’s profability and most sources say it’s not really profitable.
But… Why?
I don’t know about that. The new pixel 8 series is getting announced tomorrow, but I haven’t read anywhere that they will release Android 14 tomorrow. When Android 12 released it also took them a couple of weeks to release it for their older models.
Yes. Or in the next coming weeks at least.
Not being tracked doesn’t mean they can’t have ads.
TV ads are still a thing and so are billboard ads.
They could simply show ads depending on the context of the content you’re looking at.
Which clearly isn’t as big and mainstream as Reddit
It’s not the end of Reddit

You don’t even own it when you buy it
