okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Controversial UK oil field reveals climate impact if approvedEnglish3·3 days agoI’m finding it quite depressing reading through the comments on the BBC website. Hopefully, they don’t reflect the UK population as a whole.
okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto United Kingdom@feddit.uk•£6 million repaid to workers as Government cracks down on employers underpaying their staffEnglish5·3 days agoI agree, though alas currently wage theft is not a crime in the UK.
okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto London@feddit.uk•Minister ‘appalled’ at Muslim charity run in London that excluded womenEnglish34·5 days agoHow do you explain the existence of professional female Muslim athletes then?
okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto London@feddit.uk•Waterloo station has confirmed massive rail disruption for Christmas 2025English2·12 days agoWell spotted, I’ve updated the headline accordingly.
okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto London@feddit.uk•The 15 Best Bakeries In London in 2025, According To The TelegraphEnglish2·14 days agoThank you, that really made my day! As much as I want to change the world, I do also love a croissant, and those two things aren’t mutually exclusive. After all, several of those bakeries - E5 Bakehouse and The Dusty Knuckle - are involved in programmes helping refugees and prison leavers.

okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto London@feddit.uk•‘She can’t vanish’: Community mourns death of beloved local homeless womanEnglish3·16 days agoAs the article states, lots of people in the community cared for her when she was alive, and took the time to speak to her, and help her out.
It’s rather simplistic to say that if people cared then she wouldn’t be homeless. The government needs to build more affordable social housing to end homelessness.
okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto United Kingdom@feddit.uk•Bike thefts at stations 'decriminalised'English12·18 days agoWe definitely want to get more people cycling. Drivers who park at the station are also affected, as the article states:
Car thefts will not be investigated if the vehicle has been left for more than two hours

okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto Casual UK@feddit.uk•UK focussed community for runningEnglish1·28 days agoThank you for the suggestion. I guess in the scope of Lemmy maybe it’s a little bit niche, but the running community in the UK is growing and growing, so there’s definitely the community for it, just not on Lemmy at the moment.
okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto Casual UK@feddit.uk•UK focussed community for runningEnglish1·28 days agoThank you! If I do end up creating one, I would like it on Feddit UK, so would I need someone such as yourself to create it for me?
okwithmydecay@leminal.spaceOPto Casual UK@feddit.uk•UK focussed community for runningEnglish2·28 days agoSo I’ve thought about this and what I would like to have is a UK focused running community that exists outside of Instagram, which currently is the dominant place for running content, particularly running crews. I’m quite active in the London running crew scene and there are things like shakeout races, community events that only get posted about on Instagram and I would love to share those outside of Instagram.
I’m thinking something like the hashtag #UKRunChat, but as a Lemmy community, that I would happily help moderate and manage.
Dear people who are voting down this article, could you please explain why?
