Technology@lemmy.world•Netflix will show generative AI ads midway through streams in 2026English
10·8 months agoThere are ways to recover deleted files, at least partially. Especially if all you did was remove the directory and not the files themselves.
Re-downloading 32TB would take a while but you’ll probably download it faster than you can watch it. Usenet downloads are typically faster than torrenting.
Plex is much easier to setup than Jellyfin and much more user-friendly in general, though it’s not free for some of the more useful features like watching from outside your home.

11·8 months agoSo I don’t need to take care to re-mount them in the right configuration? I’ll do some googling but I wasn’t sure if I needed to do some backup preparation of something.

1·8 months agoThanks, I think I’m coming to the conclusion I should get rid of the TrueNAS VM. I’ll need to research the best method for mounting those drives directly back into ProxMox without data loss and then re-share it back to Plex.

1·8 months agoThere’s an apparent workaround for mounting shared volumes into Unprivileged LXCs though it was a real pain for me (a noob) to figure it out. I used the forum post below to feel my way through it. You might also just try using a Privileged LXC if the security concerns don’t bother you.

Self Hosted - Self-hosting your services.@lemmy.ml•[Question] Is TrueNAS VM useful in my use case?English
2·8 months agoIt’s probable that I’m missing something but I couldn’t get the share to be available to any other VM or LXC on ProxMox until I passed the pool from TrueNAS back to ProxMox.
I’m all for getting rid of the TrueNAS VM as long as I can reassemble the zfspool in ProxMox without losing the data (though if I did, no big deal). And I’d also like a user friendly way of monitoring the health of my disks.

You can use things like steganography to embed data into the AI output.
Imagine a text has certain letters in certain places which can give you a probability rating that it’s AI generated, or errant pixels of certain colors.
Printers already do something like this, printing imperceptible dots on pages.

I’m also interested in a solution to this. Can ChatGPT somehow help you parse the information from Google Takeout into a method which is importable into Open Maps?
