Implying I’m hated in real life? I try my best to be reasonably polite and mind my own business. I guess that is reason enough for some.

Shutdown -P now in the wrong terminal window and a server at the other side of the country went down.
Electrical work and blacked out the entire 500m level in the mine.
No, I’m not.
As for social acceptance I like my personal space. Don’t care what you do as long as I can opt out.
Increased support for Ukraine.
It’s at the moment more important than solving any domestic issues.
(I most likely don’t live in your country, only argue for your favored domestic issues if you really have nothing better to do).
Vim, I’ve not given emacs a fair try yet. At work I’ve got to use what I’ve got to use and neither is an option. At home the last thing I want to do is write more code.
When I do have a choice I’m not doing much more complicated things than editing a config file and anything more advanced than cat would do I guess.
I liked using what was then archaic language back in school 20 years ago. I’ll be one of the last ones to change.
2.5/5.
Average day. But my average is quite good.
Keys on a qwerty keyboard.
That the most important thing is technical know-how.
You’ll have to deal with a lot of difficult people in life. There is a huge difference if you get them to put your task on top of their todo list or on there bottom of the pile on their desk.
Winter (north Scandinavia): 10 minutes by car. Options are walking 1 hour or bus+walking ~40 minutes depending on how close you like to cut it on the bus stop.
Summer: option of bike 15 minutes. Not an option during winter. It’s okay above -15 C, flat ground, low traffic and well plowed streets. None of those are true here.
No. They can be sued for the opposite too. Generally it’s about misleading the shareholders. You can argue that it’s about money in the end because who will buy planes that fall out of the sky?
NEW YORK, Jan 31 (Reuters) - Boeing (BA.N), has been sued by shareholders who said the company prioritized profit over safety and misled them about its commitment to making safe aircraft, prior to the Jan. 5 mid-air cabin panel blowout on an Alaskan Airlines 737 MAX 9.
I’d be surprised I’d be allowed in there in the first place, but I guess if Hitler got there the bar to entry is fairly low.
I’d have some questions to ask but I am guessing the complaint queue is very long considering all victims meeting their murderers in heaven and whatnot so I’ll just go have a harp lesson or something.
I consider it my civic duty to waste as much of their time as possible. It can also serve as an outlet for creativity and have a bit of fun. Think of it as a reverse prank call.
I think my favorite was when they called on my work phone and I tried to set them up as a customer, with my most pleasant voice asking about their billing address and quoting our consulting fees and that I’d be happy to answer any question they wanted as soon as they were set up as a customer. They told me to fuck off and hung up 15 minutes later.
I barely qualify as simian first hour of waking up. I’ve got an answer, an answer that neither you nor I will like.
Go to bed an hour earlier.
I know it works for me, I never do anyway. Now if you excuse me I’ll ooze over to the kitchen counter and guzzle coffee.
Office work 2-3 days.
The others have been mentioned. Not quite daily but I’ll occasionally get paid to do CFD simulations.
FreeCAD, salome, openFOAM, paraview.
Mid 30 Scandinavian right/libertarian leaning.
You can argue for it from both sides.
The right want a small government and to encourage entrepreneurs to take risks. The left want a strong social support system for the unfortunate.
From what I’ve read about it it seems like a good idea. The big question is how you implement it at scale without crashing the current system that works reasonably well.
My body seems to default to a day slightly longer than 24 hours.
This gets worse during summer/winter when daylight does not help in keeping my sleeping habits in check.
Dabbled in it since 2006. About 2012 i had problems with my network card on windows, flipped out and just installed Linux on my main home computer and have not used windows at home since.
Started with Ubuntu and it’s flavors, recently had problems with snap packages, flipped out and installed the first non Ubuntuoid distro that promised an easy install so I could get back to whatever I was doing at the time. I currently have Manjaro at home.
Attitude: I generally don’t care unless they try to tell me what to do based on their religion. This is generally never a problem, I’ve had more vegans and environmentalists bother me.
Getting along: we have some high faith denomination of Christianity here. I’ve worked with a few and generally don’t notice unless they drop something heavy on their foot and don’t swear.
Thought of believing: not since I was 12 or something.
Do not like faiths: I acknowledge they can create a sense of community and belonging. I have a dim view of the dogma that tends to come with them.
