A fantastic viewpoint waits at the top of a long and steep hill, which is paved throughout helping make it more accessible. At the top, expansive views of the Olympic region, Mt Baker, Port Angeles on the US side and Vancouver Island on the Canadian Side and the Puget Sound in between. Very popular.
Looking across the valley towards what I believe is Klahhane Ridge, with its jagged peaks and patches of snow at higher elevations.
A view of the ridgeline leading from Port Angeles (left) towards Mt Angeles (whose peak is out of frame right). A snowy Mt Baker may be seen in the distance looking like it is floating above the wildfire haze.

Haha, I wasn’t aware you could see them there, that’s awesome… I remember the first time I saw a sign warning about the pee-mad mountain goats while hiking the Heart Lake Trail in the sawtooth mountains of Idaho.
I did the whole ridge a few years ago. They posted a sign about airlifting goats out. Think Navy seal tea bags dangling from a rope attached to the helicopter. The history of the goats there is really a story about goat incest.

Oh wow, I wasn’t aware of that. 1,000 goats at one point is a crazy number for up there and must’ve been really damaging.
