In general, the whole trans-mania fad that the west is going through right now is gonna lead to a lot and I mean a LOT of permanently fucked up people I’m the coming years and I predict that as today’s “trans kids” grow up we’ll be hearing a lot of testimonies of rampant sexual abuse and gaslighting in the lgbt+ community that these kids are falling victim to today.

These guys are a bunch of narcissistic assholes who screwed over everyone else at that entire concert for a publicity stunt. The event was cancelled midway through, Tthe attendees, didnt get their money back, the vendors had to shut down and surrender the merchandise they were gonna sell so they didn’t get compensated for that and the venue itself has come under investigation and can’t host any more shows till the owners are either replaced or the investigation is concluded which could take years.

They did zero research, didn’t give a rats ass about how this would effect anyone else, all they thought was “hmm, Malaysia isn’t big on the gay, what if we made a spectacle about a gay kiss? We could pull a Lil nas x and really monetise this!”

The thing is Blazing Saddles was a product of its time. It was made when EVERYTHING was a western, every TV show, every story book, every movie. The U.S was hooked in a multi-decade western craze that spanned from the early 50s to the mid 70s.

Blazing Saddles took every trope, every aspect of all those westerns, every cliche and every historical inaccuracy (like omitting racism and how it generally sucked for almost everyone to live in those times.

Blazing Saddles deconstructed and tore apart every part of the western and directly, near single handedly caused interest in the western to die.

Now whenever there’s a western, they don’t tend to romanticise it, and those that survived with any cultural relevance were films like the dollars trilogy which, while embracing some of these tropes, didn’t shy from the violence, greed and heartlessness of those times.

Blazing Saddles couldn’t be made today because the cultural zeitgeist it was made in doesn’t exist anymore.
