3·16 days agoYes they could, but most importantly it gives more time for researchers and maintainers to detect attacks and fix them before they reach end-users.

Web Development@programming.dev•We should all be using dependency cooldowns
3·16 days agoI don’t get your point. In most examples cited in the article, the supply chain attacks were found either by security researchers or maintainers realizing they did not intentionally push compromised version, not by everyday developers. The goal of dependency cooldowns is to give researchers and maintainers more time to detect attacks before they reach end-users.

I’d like to note that RSSPreview restores features that were removed in Firefox 64.
And by “changing how feeds are displayed”, it applies an XSL Transformation to display the feed as HTML (instead of XML) in the browser. XSL Transformation is pretty neat, you can use it on any XML document such as your own RSS feed, like I done on mine.
I was asking if those features were available in Mailbox. They are in Nextcloud, but knowing that Mailbox has them would entice me to move there instead of self-hostin (I share the same fears as you tbh)
I was looking to migrate my mails to a self-hosted Nextcloud instance, but Mailbox seems very appealing (and it would be cheaper than renting a VPS).
My only questions are: is there a feature like Snooze (or Follow-up reminders in Nextcloud parlance), can you have a unified mailbox for every address you have, and is there a limit to the number of domains you can have?
Is it just me or the clocks frequently break or change appearance without the page being refreshed?
Edit: nevermind, I skipped past the sentence explaining that every minute, the site prompts LLMs for a new solution. This is hilariously sad how LLMs aren’t able to be consistent from one prompt to another.

Virtual Reality@lemmy.world•Can Valve save VR gaming with the Steam Frame?English
1·26 days agoOh sure! But wouldn’t that mean that some VR games sold on Steam would only run on the Frame? That seems so not like Valve.

Virtual Reality@lemmy.world•Can Valve save VR gaming with the Steam Frame?English
31·26 days agoOh yes, I know, but we cannot expect everyone to side-load APKs. My point was that nowadays Meta’s catalog way surpass Steam VR’s and that Valve should entice developers that published on Meta’s marketplace to publish on Steam.
